Cabinet Refacing FAQ

Will my home get dusty?

We will do our best to keep dust to a minimum, but dust may travel.

Do I have to be home during the installation?

You do not have to be home for the entire installation. Please make arrangements with your Project Manager if you will not be home for the entirety of the installation time.

I am planning to paint or install wall coverings. Can I do this before the cabinets are installed?

We strongly recommend painting after our project is complete to avoid requiring touch-ups.

When should I paint the inside of my cabinets?

We strongly recommend painting after our project is complete to avoid the need to repaint after refacing.

I am having new flooring installed. Will you come back to install molding?

If MKD Kitchen and Bath is not installing the flooring, we will leave the molding ready for installation by your flooring company. You may request us to return to install your base molding for an additional charge.

Will I have to clean the insides of my cabinets?

Our installers will remove debris and vacuum the cabinet interior, but you will need to clean the interior of the cabinets after we are finished.

How long will the install take?

This depends on the complexity of your project. Once the installer gets started, he/she will be able to let you know approximately when he/she will be completed.
